Familiarization Visit to Tashkent: Innovative Technologies and Education in the Water Sector

4 March 2026 the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea together with the World Bank Central Asia Water-Energy Program (CAWEP-4) organized a study visit in Tashkent on the topic “Transfer of Innovative Technologies and Educational Practices in Water Resources Management in Central Asia”.

The visit included the following institutions and enterprises:

- The IFAS Agency (a branch of the Executive Committee of the Fund) to familiarize participants with its practical activities.

- The “Water Professionals School”, where educational modules and strategies for continuous professional development of specialists in the water sector were presented.

- Agro Drip LLC, a company producing modern drip irrigation systems. Water-saving technologies are actively being introduced in the countries of the Aral Sea basin.

- Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers National Research University. The Rector of the university, Bakhodir Mirzaev, presented the institution’s research potential and projects aimed at optimizing water consumption in agriculture.
