Interstate Commission meeting on sustainable development of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

On March 28, 2024, Astana hosted the regular meeting of the Interstate Commission for Sustainable Development of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS). The Executive Committee Chairman of the IFAS Askhat Orazbay emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation within IFAS.

The meeting included a report on the work done during the period of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship (2022-2024), implementation of decisions from previous sessions, and other matters concerning environmental cooperation in the region. The session concluded with the signing of resolutions and the handover of chairmanship from Kazakhstan to Tajikistan.
