On October 16, 2025, the staff of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) took part in an inaugural and introductory virtual meeting to launch the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Program with the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO), which serves as the moderator of the P2P implementation process.
The P2P Program is a European Union initiative aimed at supporting basin organizations by promoting peer-to-peer exchanges of experience to strengthen technical, human, and scientific-practical capacities in the field of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). The Program provides for various areas of cooperation.
The Executive Committee of IFAS was selected among more than a hundred international and intergovernmental basin organizations worldwide. Its main partners within the Program are the Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC), the Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM), and the Scientific-Information Center of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination of Central Asia (SIC ICWC).
The partnership among the participating organizations within the framework of this Program will continue until 2028.
