Meeting Between EC IFAS Chairman and Head of Tajikistan’s Environmental Committee on the Sidelines of the Dushanbe Conference

On May 31, 2025, on the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Preservation held in Dushanbe (May 29–31 this year), Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS), A. Orazbay, met with Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, B. Sheralizoda.
Highlighting the important role of IFAS as an effective platform for cooperation, A. Orazbay expressed the Executive Committee’s readiness to engage in regional projects that affect the interests of the Central Asian countries, including in areas related to water and environmental security.
B. Sheralizoda expressed his gratitude to the EC IFAS delegation, headed by A. Orazbay, for participating in the Dushanbe Conference. One of the main outcomes of the event will be the adoption of a resolution on the establishment of an International Trust Fund for Glacier Preservation supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
A. Orazbay commended the achievements of the Conference and expressed hope for the successful implementation of the agreements reached and the documents signed during the forum.
