The 3rd Meeting of the Working Group on the Regional Grant Component of the World Bank Program was held in Tashkent

On 5–6 March 2026, the 3rd meeting of the Regional Working Group on the preparation of the Central Asia Water Efficiency Cooperation Project was held in Tashkent. The meeting was organized by the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea jointly with the World Bank Central Asia Water-Energy Program (CAWEP-4).

The meeting brought together representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the IFAS founding states, as well as representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs of the Central Asian countries.

Participants reviewed the consolidated proposals submitted by the countries and preliminarily approved a number of regional project initiatives aimed at digitalization and automation of water resources management, and strengthening the material, technical and human capacity of regional IFAS institutions.

In addition, participants discussed the proposed regional project initiatives with international development partners (GIZ, SDC, the Delegation of the European Union, EBRD, IWMI and others).
