In the framework of a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan

Dushanbe, April 3, 2024 - In the framework of a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) Askhat Orazbay held meetings with the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma and the former Chairman of the IFAS Executive Committee Sulton Rakhimzoda (2020-2023).

During the meetings, a wide range of issues related to the activities of IFAS were discussed, including the implementation of projects under the Fourth Action Program for Assistance to the Aral Sea Basin Countries (ASBP-4), improvement of the organizational structure and legal framework of the Fund, participation of IFAS founding states and the Executive Committee team in important global events in the field of water resources, environmental protection and others. In addition, there was an exchange of views on further prospects for cooperation between the IFAS Executive Committee and the Republic of Tajikistan within the Organization.
