Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS) Askhаt Orazbay participated in the 86th Meeting of the Interstate Coordination Water Management

Shymkent, 12 April 2024 - Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS) Askhаt Orazbay participated in the 86th Meeting of the Interstate Coordination Water Management Commission of Central Asia (ICWC).
In his speech A.Orazbay informed the ICWC members and other participants of the meeting about current activities and plans of the EC IFAS for the period of Kazakhstan’s Chairmanship and about a Subregional Session titled “Transboundary Water Cooperation in the Aral Sea Basin for a Better Future” to be hosted by the EC IFAS within the framework of the 10th World Water Forum (May 18-24, 2024, Bali, Indonesia).

The Chairman also told about the initiative of Kazakhstan and France to organize the “One Water Summit” on September 23, 2024 in the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York, during which the IFAS plans to actively participate as a regional organization as well as to present regional and national-scale projects and programs, including ASBP-4, during the summit.
