Participation 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30)

On 11 November 2025, in Belém, Federative Republic of Brazil, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS), Askhat Orazbay, participated—at the invitation of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and Sogesid S.p.A.—in the side event “Continuing Work on the Aral Sea: Joint Management for Environmental Restoration”, organized at the Italy Pavilion as part of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30).

The Head of the EC IFAS informed the audience about the progress in implementing the Fourth Aral Sea Basin Programme (ASBP-4) and the Regional Environmental Programme for Sustainable Development in Central Asia until 2030.

He also expressed gratitude to the Italian side for its active engagement within the Project on Ecological Regeneration of the Aral Sea and its transboundary water-forming area, which focuses on key sectors such as water resources management and soil restoration in the Aral Sea Basin.
