Kyzylorda, September 15–17, 2025 – At the invitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, Serik Bekmaganbetov, took part in the meeting of the Intergovernmental Working Group on assessing the impact of the Aral Sea crisis on health and the environment, with the participation of representatives of the Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health of the World Health Organization.
The purpose of the meeting and consultations was to launch a structured and broadly participatory process for developing a draft roadmap for environmental and health impact assessment in the Aral Sea region in Kazakhstan, as well as to discuss potential subregional common interests.
The outcomes of the event were discussed at the Kyzylorda Regional Akimat with Deputy Akim A. Zebeshev.
S. Bekmaganbetov also held a working meeting with the staff of the Kyzylorda branch of the EC IFAS.
