Participation of the EC IFAS in the Reception on the Occasion of the Opening of the AFD Office in Kazakhstan

Astana, April 11, 2025 – At the invitation of the Embassy of the French Republic in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Mr. Askhat Orazbay, took part in a diplomatic reception on the occasion of the inauguration of the Representative Office of the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement – AFD) in Kazakhstan, in the city of Astana.

Currently, within the framework of cooperation between the Executive Committee of IFAS and AFD, the preparatory phase is being finalized for the launch and implementation of projects aimed at sustainable water use in the region. These include the adaptation of irrigation methods using detailed satellite-based water demand analysis in the sub-basins of the Aral Sea, and fostering water conservation awareness among youth in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan (Aral Sea basin).
