On April 7, 2026, a working meeting was held at the office of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea with representatives of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS office is located in Astana).
The parties discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects and organizing events during the current year on water-related topics, in connection with water and food security, with the aim of supporting the sustainable development of the Aral Sea Basin countries, within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions on February 6, 2026.
