About the business trip to Samarkand

On April 4-5, 2025, the Executive Committee of the IFAS, headed by the Chairman of the organization, Askhat Orazbay, participated in the International Conference "Central Asia Facing Global Climate Challenges: Consolidation for Common Prosperity" and the 89th meeting of the Interstate Coordinating Water Commission of Central Asia, which took place in the city of Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan, at the invitation of the event organizers.

At the Samarkand Climate Conference, the President of Kazakhstan, the President of IFAS, K.K. Tokayev, and other Central Asian leaders, as well as leaders from the European Union, delivered speeches.

At the 89th meeting of the ICWC, A. Orazbay informed the Commission members about the current and planned activities of the Executive Committee of the Fund, especially regarding the process of improving the organizational structure and the legal framework of IFAS, as assigned by the Heads of Central Asian States, as well as other regional issues.
