Chairman of the Executive Committee of the IFAS, Amb.Askhat Orazbay, paid a working visit to Tashkent, where he held meetings with the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On April 26, 2024, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the IFAS, Amb.Askhat Orazbay, paid a working visit to Tashkent, where he held meetings with the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Agrarian development, Member of the IFAS Board Shukhrat Ganiev, and Minister of Water Resources Shavkat Khamraev.

During the meetings, priorities, plans, and current issues of the Fund’s activities during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in 2024-2026 were discussed, as well as upcoming events involving IFAS member states.

The Uzbek side expressed its support for Kazakhstan’s Chairmanship in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

Amb. Orazbay also visited the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers. The rector of the institute Bahodir Mirzaev briefed on the institute’s activities, training of personnel for water management in Uzbekistan and other regional countries, educational and scientific programs, and international cooperation.
