Astana, September 10, 2024 - Chairman of the EC IFAS A. Orazbay participated in a meeting with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan chaired by Minister N.Nurzhigitov.
The discussion focused on cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union in the water sector, including transboundary rivers within the framework of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
Chairman Orazbay provided information about the IFAS Executive Committee's interaction with European development institutions, the implementation of joint projects, as well as past and upcoming events, including the EC IFAS Board meeting and the Coordination Meeting with development partners scheduled for September 18 of this year.
A.Orazbay called for further mutually beneficial cooperation between the EU and the EC IFAS on the implementation of projects in the Aral Sea basin.
