International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and Eurasian Development Bank: Joining Efforts to Improve the situation in the Aral Sea Basin

Astana, June 25, 2024 – The Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS) hosted a meeting between the Chairman of EC IFAS A. Orazbay and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) N. Podguzov.
During the meeting, the heads informed each other about the activities of their respective organizations and discussed the possibility of jointly implementing projects aimed at improving the socio-economic and environmental situation in the Aral Sea region.
N. Podguzov expressed the EDB’s readiness to actively cooperate with EC IFAS.
In turn, A. Orazbay particularly emphasized the need to select projects of regional importance.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to identify projects for joint implementation and areas for interaction between the two organizations.
