Dushanbe, May 31, 2025 – Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS), Askhat Orazbay, delivered a speech at the plenary session of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Preservation in Dushanbe.
He emphasized the importance of joint efforts to preserve glaciers as a key source of freshwater and a foundation for sustainable development. He noted the need to implement modern water-saving technologies and to expand regional cooperation, particularly within the IFAS framework.
Mr. Orazbay also informed participants about the implementation of the Fourth Aral Sea Basin Program (ASBP-4), aimed at the effective and sustainable use of water resources.
He reaffirmed IFAS’s readiness to continue working with international partners on the implementation of projects in the region.
