During the meeting with the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Terhi Hakala, issues regarding the enhancement of cooperation between EU countries and IFAS were discussed. This cooperation is aimed at the implementation of projects from the Fund's medium-term documents up to 2030 – the Aral Sea Basin Program (ASBP-4) and the Regional Environmental Protection Program for Sustainable Development of Central Asian Countries (REP4SD CA). An agreement was reached on closer coordination of work and the expansion of partnership.

On June 12, 2024, a consultation meeting between the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) and the World Bank Group team was held at the World Bank Representative Office in the Republic of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, to discuss joint activities within the framework of the 4th Central Asia Water and Energy Program (CAWEP). The aim of the consultations was to develop coordinated actions between IFAS and CAWEP during the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2024-2026. Special attention was given to the activities of the Working Group on improving the organizational structure and legal framework of IFAS, whose work process is very important for all founding states of the Fund and is actively supported by CAWEP. A. Orazbay presented a number of regional initiatives within the mandate of IFAS. As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to intensify and coordinate joint actions within the ongoing partnership dialogue. In particular, the Executive Committee of the Fund and the World Bank Group team will work on and initiate new CAWEP projects aimed at achieving a multiplier effect and taking into account the interests of all countries in the region.

On June 11, 2024, as part of the 3rd High-Level Dushanbe International Conference on the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development» 2018-2028, a parallel session titled «Towards One Water Summit» was held at the initiative of the Kazakh and French sides, with the participation of representatives from national ministries and agencies for water resources management, as well as international organizations. The head of the Information and Analytical Department of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Saule Shalmaganbetova, gave a presentation on the issues of joint use of water resources in the Aral Sea basin.
