Seminar on Dissemination of the Project Results on the Revision of Hydromodular Zoning in the Syr Darya River Basin

On 8 July 2026, a seminar was held in Kyzylorda to disseminate the results of the project "Correction of Hydromodule Zoning in the Syrdarya River Basin Using Remote Sensing and Satellite Mapping Technologies to Improve Agricultural Water Demand Estimates and Irrigation Scheduling for Crops Cultivated in the Region". The project is being implemented by the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS) with financial support from the French Development Agency (AFD).

Consultations between the EC IFAS and the WHO Regional Office for Europe on Enhancing Cooperation

On 1 July 2026, consultations were held between the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS) in a hybrid format. The meeting aimed to advance cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 23 April 2026 in Astana between the two organizations on collaboration to promote health, well-being, and environmental sustainability in the Aral Sea Basin.

On June 23, 2026, in Astana, Tashkent, Almaty, Kyzylorda, and Nukus, the second meeting of the Project Steering Committee titled “Water and Education: Fostering a Culture of Responsible Water Use and Conservation of Water Resources among Youth in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan” took place. The project is being implemented in the Syr Darya River basin on the initiative of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (within the project proposal “Water and Education: Promoting Water Conservation in Central Asian Countries” under the 4th Aral Sea Basin Program) and with financial support from the French Development Agency (AFD).
