100th Anniversary of the Aral Sea Region’s Fisheries Industry

On October 10, 2025, in the Aral District of the Kyzylorda Region, staff members of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) took part in the national scientific and educational conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the fisheries sector of the Aral Sea region, as well as in the opening ceremony of the Service and Procurement Center “Karashalang Balyk” LLP plant, which meets European quality standards.

The Executive Committee of IFAS acted as a co-organizer of the conference and presented information on the progress of regional projects under the Fourth Aral Sea Basin Program, aimed at environmental protection and the development of the fisheries sector.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of IFAS, 150 distinguished workers of the fisheries industry were awarded commemorative badges “100 Years of the Aral Fisheries Industry.” This initiative became an important step in strengthening the dialogue between the Fund’s institutions and the population of the Aral Sea region during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of IFAS.
